Here's what Kimberly Lundstrom at The Fix had to say about my story "The Islands of Hope" in the Fantasist Enterprises' anthology Sails and Sorcery: Tales of Nautical Fantasy:
"Miller’s prose is clear, bold, and direct. She introduces us to a realistic, interesting, sympathetic character in Julian, whose motivations are believable and clearly communicated in a tale that arcs gracefully through conflict and complications, and comes to its inevitable, but still unexpected conclusion."

This is the first time my story has been mentioned in one of the reviews.
Thanks to Paul S. Kemp, who also received praise for his story "The Spinner", for finding this review.
By the way, for those of you keeping track, I received my 10,000th hit (since Feb. 2007) some time yesterday. (The little counter is in the left hand sidebar.) I would have celebrated, except this is the first time I've been online since my purse was stolen. I've been too busy canceling credit cards, getting a replacement driver's license, and just feeling sick at my stomach.
The review has me smiling, though. Thank you, Kimberly.

It has been an awesome month for me because I got to know my fellow Sails and Sorcery authors so well. I'll be meeting a bunch of them in person at Context and World Fantasy. Hope to some of you there, too.

Some of you may remember I did earlier interviews with contributor Elaine Cunningham (READ HER PICK SIX HERE) and editor W. H. Horner (READ HIS PICK SIX HERE).
And, don't forget that some story excerpts are available on the Fantasist Enterprises site. Just click on TABLE OF CONTENTS. The blue story titles are linked to excerpts. But to read my story "The Islands of Hope", you'll have to get your hands on a book. ;)
Until then, you can read about my inspirations for the story on Maria V. Snyder's blog.

Chun Lee has a humorous, very tongue-in-cheek plan up about how he could promote Sails and Sorcery. If you've ever met Chun personally, you know just how tongue-in-cheek this is.
His story "Stillworld: Sailing to Noon" and my story "The Islands of Hope" are just two of twenty-eight great stories found in this anthology.
